I bet you know what I’m going to say. It’s Friday, so I went grocery shopping at Aldi this morning. Jasper had already left for a yard job. And when I returned, the house was empty and locked. Walter had gone onto campus to watch the inflation of the new sports dome, so I had to haul in the groceries and put them away myself.
I had a pretty long to-do list for the afternoon. I made my lupper and ate it. I went to Walmart to get the things Aldi hadn’t had. I boiled eggs and made egg salad. I made chip dip.
I made cupcakes and iced them.
I kind of messed up on the icing. I used yellow food coloring, but it is the wrong yellow. The lemon cupcakes look more like egg yolks than lemon. Oh well, they should still taste the same!
Meanwhile, Walter had another financial phone call, the first in a multi-step process to get our annuity started. We had no idea it would be this complicated.
I did a cheater pizza supper for the guys—a bought pizza augmented with lots of extra cheese. I was more focused on getting ready for tomorrow. I cooked some bacon and started packing a box of food for our planned excursion to the lake.
I also have a sewing class tomorrow, so I had to pack up my sewing machine and have it ready. When I get back from the class, I’ll have very little time to get ready to leave for the lake.
Oh, and I also got my lab results back. I am very happy with most of them. There is one lab that I am not worried about, but that I know my doctor will be unhappy about, and I think we’re just going to have to agree to disagree.
Parting Shot:
The minute I walked into Walmart, I remembered what month it was. The time had come to buy our annual welcome scarecrow. He’ll happily greet guests at our home for the next two months, blissfully unaware of his impending cremation.
You give me a chuckle every time. Have a good day friend
