Shrove Tuesday
Well, today definitely didn’t go as planned. After a very restless night, Walter got up still feeling awful, and he struggled all day.
Meanwhile, I did my Bible reading (Ezekiel now) and took our taxes to the post office to mail them, and did a load of laundry and got the sourdough pancake batter started.
That kind of makes it sound like I was productive, but it really was a lazy day. I kind of prioritized watching Olympics coverage and therefore got quite a bit of knitting done. And I could continue watching while on my exercise bike. I really need to do some sewing, but I didn’t get around to it . . .
Since today is Shrove Tuesday, and therefore Pancake Day, I made chocolate chip sourdough pancakes for supper:
And also scrambled eggs and sausage patties. Walter ate a few bites, his first food since Sunday I think. He was shivering with cold despite the warm temperatures, so I think maybe he was feverish. He tried to stay up after supper, but at 8:30 came and announced he was going to bed. So it’s pretty weird for me to be on my own all evening.
I watched some bobsledding and got more knitting done, and then actually spent some time reading. And ironed my pillowcases. The pillowcases I made myself look better if ironed. Let’s be real here. All pillowcases look better if they’re ironed. Mine don’t look terrible if I don’t iron them, but hey, it only takes five minutes, so why not?
Joy Spark: Getting to watch some Olympics coverage today. Those athletes are amazing.
