Miss Do Little
This being Thursday, my day started with coffee. While I sipped and did some reading, Walter went back to work on all his outdoor projects. The back door is almost done and doing the three doors pretty much used up the entire gallon of paint we bought. Later, he mowed the yards in the 100-degree heat.
I had planned to do some sewing today, but I got sucked into reading a bunch of historical stuff online so guess how much sewing got done? None.
After lunch I headed out to the tearoom. This is the fourth week in a row! Normally I try to go once a month. This time I met up with my friend Kim A. The tearoom was busier than usual. I had planned to bring my own cream again, but I was distracted while leaving and left it in the refrigerator. And of course, the tearoom didn’t have any—which meant neither Kim nor I could have the tea we really wanted, so we shared a pot of rooibos.
After we finished our tea, we were browsing the shop and Kim showed me a tiny little flower press:
I have been looking at these and wanting one for over a year, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend the money on one. And then to my surprise, Kim bought one for herself and one for me too! Can’t wait to try it out.
I drove home and made supper for the guys, and then restored more photos. ChatGPT only allows me to do 3 per day now. Here’s one I’ve done recently:
This was me on my thirteenth birthday, aboard the freighter Hellenic Star, which was still sitting in New York harbor at that time. We had to be aboard early so the ship could sail whenever weather conditions were favorable. A couple days after this we were on our way to Capetown.
I have had something weird happen today. This morning I thought I had been bitten multiple times by something. The itching was terrible. Then this evening when it happened again, I came to the conclusion that I am having an allergic reaction to something. Both times the intense itching and rash happened shortly after taking my meds. I know it seems unlikely, but I don’t know what else it could be. I know from past experience that an allergy can crop up very suddenly. I sure hope I can sleep tonight. And that I can be a little more productive tomorrow.

They had some beautiful roses in the tearoom today.
