Hallelujah
Were you praying that my prescription would arrive today? Because it DID. What a relief. I only had to miss 3 doses instead of 5. And I didn’t have a stroke.
Yesterday it was good to be back in our own church. The weather was cold and windy again, which made it even more enjoyable to hunker down for a nap in the afternoon.
These trips to Georgia are very taxing for me, and it’s mostly due to my introversion. I love hanging out with friends and family, but I also need a lot of alone time, and on these trips I am virtually never alone, except when going for my brief walks. My husband is the same. When we are at home, we spend big chunks of time in separate rooms, because we both need the solitude. When traveling together, there is nowhere that either of us can retreat to in order to be alone. This is very stressful for me, and it makes returning home such a relief. I guarantee I’ll be reveling in my periods of solitude this week—and also in social interactions.
Yesterday afternoon we Zoomed with Flynn’s family and Spencer and Jade. Flynn was a little distracted by making a fancy cake for his sister’s birthday, but his daughters did a great job of entertaining us.
This week is Spring Break for the university and most local schools, so most of the students are gone and Walter has today and tomorrow off work. This also means no photography class this week, sadly. I am ready to get back into it.
I was up relatively early this morning so I could get going to Walmart before breakfast and pick up a few groceries. I timed my visit perfectly so that my pickup order at Super 1 was ready just as I finished at Walmart.
Once I returned home, I had some items to pack and get ready to mail, and then drove to the post office to mail them. The rest of the day has been spent in trying to get back into some semblance of a normal routine. It was good to get back on my exercise bike. Thanks to my faithful walking on our trip, I didn’t fall behind in either of my virtual challenges.
Meanwhile, Walter spent several hours working in the yard. There was a big storm in our absence, so there was quite a bit of cleanup to do. His back will hurt tomorrow . . .
Quote of the Day: This is actually from Saturday as we drove back from Georgia. A billboard advertising a barbeque place said, “Don’t wear your favorite shirt.” Made me smile for miles.
Parting Shot:
Didn’t take any photos today, so this is from our walk in the park with Spencer and Jade. We were there at twilight, and there was very little color so I figured I might as well make this black and white.
