Double Feature
Happy Vernal Equinox! It was a very sunny and warm day here in Colorado. The girls were up bright and early as usual. Paisley chose to wear a dress that I’d brought—one which I made for one of my daughters back in the day. Ellie went off to spend the morning with her other grandmother, and then after Flynn finished work at 10:00 she begged to go for a walk.
Eventually we got ourselves all ready to go out into the glaring sun for our walk (Flynn, Walter, Paisley & me) and then as we walked through the garage, Paisley saw her bike and decided what she really wanted was a bike ride. So she rode and we walked. She did a great job! We stopped for a while where the path went under the road:
Paisley cannot resist the combination of rocks and water. She loves climbing on the rocks. On the way back she was very ambitious and got pretty far ahead of us:
Little Paisley is dwarfed by the road and Pike’s Peak on the horizon.
Ellie returned in time for quiet time and Walter and Flynn went out for lunch as a belated birthday treat for Walter. They went to an African restaurant.
Meanwhile, the walk in the bright sunshine had exacerbated my ongoing sinus headache, so I lay down for a while during the girls’ quiet time. I had really hoped to escape from my allergies here in Colorado, but that has not happened. And the cool basement was a welcome relief from the heat. It is unseasonably hot here this week.
This afternoon Flynn coached the girls through a rather complicated craft that resulted in some very tiny snacks. And then, because Friday nights are movie nights here, we watched Zootopia 2 while they ate their pizza. They had already seen it last week, but the girls wanted us to see it too and were quite happy to see it again.
After the girls went to bed, we grownups had our own movie dinner, watching the most recent Fantastic Four movie. I’m thinking maybe I should have brought some knitting on this trip!
