Catching Up
I wasn’t able to post any of the entries I wrote yesterday because fellowship is more important, and once the family was home I didn’t want to be on my computer. So that is why you have been flooded with entries today. I suspect my posts will be coming in batches for the duration of this trip.
I spent the entire morning and part of the afternoon working on my posts and selecting and editing photos for them. I am thankful to have this peaceful time while the family is away.
Tim’s breakfast was very late today as he was in meetings all morning, and he had another big meeting this afternoon. Farming around here is big business.
My primary task of the day was doing another load of laundry. Given our space limitations in our luggage, we couldn’t pack huge amounts of clothes so will need to do laundry every 3-4 days. They have a washing machine here, but it was in use all morning, so I didn’t have a chance to do our load until the afternoon, and I needed Tim’s help to decipher how to use the machine which has been jury-rigged to work with the plumbing here.
So it was a little late by the time I hung our clothes out on the line, but since it is dry season they dried quite quickly.
The ladies came back and shelled a lot of peanuts:
They work a split shift where they do household chores in the morning, and then return in time to help with supper.
I had caught up with everything I wanted to do by the time the kids and Dani came home, followed by Tim and Sammy. We had an enjoyable supper while the kids watched a video.
Tomorrow—a new adventure. We’ll be braving Zambian roads on our own at some point!
Parting Shot:
The water tower in the back yard. It is often overflowing, so the grass is very green all around it.
