Blooms
Today being Friday, my main task of the morning was to go grocery shopping at Aldi. My homeless friend was not there and I wonder if he was told to stay away permanently.
Walter helped me put the food away and then I could finally have my first glorious cup of tea. I don’t have tea before I go shopping because I don’t want to have to gulp it down. Then I had someone come pick up the stock pots she bought from me yesterday. I used to have stock pots in every size (up to 12 gallons!) because of chai parties. Now I don’t need so many.
Speaking of tea, Robin came over for tea this afternoon. Her son has been going through some health challenges so it’s been a difficult time for their family. I’m glad she was able to come.
Then, I confess, I spent some time reading again. But I also did do more sorting, and I’m almost ready to list some more stuff for sale. Walter is making great headway on the dollhouse. The roof shingles arrived today.
While in the exercise/storage room, I happened to glance out the south window. And suddenly I remembered that we have quince:
And forsythia:
This is actually a little late for them to be blooming. And I forget about them every year because they don’t bloom very lavishly at all. Still, they brighten things up at this time of year.
Tomorrow I am going to a class and I will tell you all about it!
Joy Spark: Jasper needed to eat supper early because he had a scheduled online game with friends, so I got his supper ready and he took it into the dining room and then came back into the kitchen because he was waiting for me to come join him—which I was happy to do. I’m glad he still tolerates my company.
Parting Shot:
Do you see what I see? A mulberry tree budding out.
