A Gift Box and A Rainbow on the Floor
Well, I made it three days at home before needing to go to Walmart, so I did that first thing this morning, stopping to put gas in the tank also. Then I had breakfast before starting work on my to-do list, which involved a lot of writing notes and emails.
I also wrote a letter to put into my Operation Christmas Child box, which I finished packing yesterday. Then I drove over to the church to drop it off. It was very heavy, because I am a very skilled packer. I love how the volunteers at the church pray over every single box. I put a lot of thought into mine, trying to strike a balance between practical items and “fun” items.
I got home in time to get in some exercise before lunch. I am trying to be very faithful about exercise this week, because I fell behind on my virtual challenge during our trip.
I indulged myself a little this afternoon, by reading a book I started on our trip—another cozy mystery in the same series I started back in the summer. It’s pure entertainment, made more enticing for me by the fact that the author loves words as much as I do, and I have learned some new ones!
And when I went outside to deposit a blender full of compost in my compost tub, I discovered this monstrosity:
It’s not as lush and full as the hydrangeas which bloom in May, but I give it a lot of latitude because this is November. Also, my asparagus is equally confused and is sending up new shoots, right when we should be cutting it down to the ground for the winter.
We finished up the evening by watching our daily video. We are now re-watching Nero Wolfe.
Parting Shot:
I have a couple of prisms hanging in the sunroom windows. At this time of year, the resulting rainbows reach all the way into the dining room. I love it.
